Innocent Hands...

I always wanted to do something which not only makes me happy but also puts a smile on other's face..something that after years I can say, its the best thing I ever have done..

My friend Charmi called me once and told that we always are busy with ourselves doing daily chores, working or socializing. Never thought of given time to do something which gives us peace of mind. She was right, so I asked her did she have any plan in her mind...to which she said that she wanted donate but not money her thoughts...Weird! something very strange that put me to thought. She explained that she wanted to teach something creative to those young kids who could not afford classes but want to learn and grow.Beautiful thought, I could not refuse and we started implementing on her project.

Since it was our first project we decided to keep it very simple like Diya Painting. Charmi's mom helped us find a Deaf and Mute Municipality School at Wadala (Mumbai), we approached the principal with the idea of our workshop and also told her that after the workshop they can arrange an exhibition, sell those diyas and utilize that money for students needs and she willing agreed to it. We chipped in money and bought clay pots, colours, brushes and sparklers and kept things ready. To our surprise we had 80 odd students and they were equally excited like us since they never had the chance to do any creative art like that. With the help of teachers we explained them and unbelievably they painted and decorated those diyas so magnificently that they too were surprised, the first brush could do so many wonders..

Their Innocent Hands not only spark the beautiful diyas but also put a smile on their achievement. We later received a call that all diyas were sold in a small exhibition and few shops had also encouraged and contributed for these students. It helped them built creative interest and also boost their self-confidence...
